Partnering with Patients and Families to Strengthen Approaches to the Opioid Epidemic

In 2018, IPFCC, in partnership with PFCCpartners, convened a multistakeholder Patient and
Family Advisor Summit on the Opioid Epidemic. This white paper summarizes the presentations
and discussions from the Summit. It also provides recommendations and guidance to
strengthen collaboration with patients and families, especially individuals who are in recovery,
live with acute and chronic pain that is managed with opioids, have active substance use
disorder, and families of those affected, to address the epidemic.
